FAQ
TDS rate finder questions
Why is salary listed without a rate?
Section 192 TDS depends on the employee’s full tax computation under the chosen regime — there is no single flat rate.
What if the payee has no PAN?
Section 206AA generally requires deduction at 20% or the section rate, whichever is higher. Some sections have special rules — we can confirm for your case.
Does crossing the threshold mid-year matter?
For sections with an aggregate threshold (for example 194C), TDS can apply once the FY aggregate crosses the limit even if a single bill is smaller. This tool uses the amount you enter against the usual threshold.
Are NRI payments covered?
Not in this finder. Payments to non-residents (including Sec 195) need a separate review.
Can you file my TDS returns?
Yes — payroll and TDS returns start from ₹4,499 a month.
